Handshake Media, Incorporated is a media company specializing in creating, editing, publishing, distributing, and presenting original online content as well as digital and print publications, and developing and distributing smartphone applications and other software.

Handshake Media, Incorporated was founded by Anne Giles and incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States of America, on August 5, 2008.

Handshake Media, Incorporated began operations under the auspices of technology startup accelerator VT KnowledgeWorks. Its initial service offering was Handshake 2.0, an online marketing medium for local technology companies. Based on the founder’s expertise in education and counseling, and interest in computer programming, the corporation also began developing behavioral health software platforms and mobile applications.

In October, 2018, direct counseling services were added as a line of business through the founder opening a private counseling practice as Anne Giles, M.A., M.S., L.P.C.

Current Projects

During the pandemic, 2020-2021, Anne began studying Mandarin Chinese. In production are Chinese and English learning and teaching media. Meaningful Words launched July 10, 2021.
